  • Environment : Warm, relatively humid environment without extended periods of moisture stress to ensure rapid, uninterrupted growth and ripening. Relatively infertile, light soils which will produce a good yield but, at the same time, ensure the desired balance between the main chemical compounds, especially carbohydrates and those containing nitrogen, and their amounts (hence the high sugar content of this type).
